How many people will be in my group?

Depending on your trip, in trekking tours there are 16 travelers maximum per group, in climbing tours depends on the peak, if it is easy 5000m 12 climbers maximum, in partly technical peaks the group could be 12 people but a Mountain Guide can guide only to 5 persons with the help of an assistant (Aspirant to Guide), in technical peaks the Mountain Guide guides only 2 people.

Can you accommodate travelers with special diets?

We can usually accommodate special dietary requirements (vegetarian, salt-free, low-calorie, etc.); be sure to notify us before the depart, or when you do the booking you can send us a message notifying about that, telling us who many people in the group are vegetarians or with special dietary requirements.

How Physically Fit Do I Need to Be to Take Your Trips?

Feeling healthy and confident of your mobility is essential if you want to fully enjoy your trip, but if you want to climb technical mount you must to have climbing skills. For your comfort and safety, we recommend our trips only to individuals in good physical condition.

What is the weather like?

You need to be prepared for sudden weather changes while trekking or climbing. That’s why trekking equipment should be chosen carefully before the trip.. The weather during the Andean summer (from May to October) is somewhat more stable

What kind of clothes is needed for trekking or climbing?

Choosing the clothes for trekking is very important. Please, check our trekking equipment list for details.

What happens in case of emergency?

“Peaks Peru” is prepared for any emergency situation and knows how to handle it. Our guides are trained in first aid and can deal with most of the basic ailments that occur during a trek or climb. Every client should have his/her own insurance before coming to Peru for case of emergency.

What is the minimum number of people for a trek?

Usually a trekking party consists of four or more trekkers or climbers, but we are very happy to organize a trip for more than four people or even just 1 trekker or climber through Cordilleras Blanca and/or Huayhuash.

Will I have to carry a backpack?

IN trekking tours You only need to carry a very light backpack for your camera, a bottle with water and extra clothes, because all equipment is loaded by pack animals. In climbing tours porters help you carrying your heavy gear.

How will I be affected by high altitude?

Travelers on Cordilleras Blanca and Huayhuash will encounter high altitudes - between 3250 and 5000 m.a.s.l. Symptoms you may experience include headache, nausea, loss of appetite, trouble with sleep, and lack of energy. We recommend you consult your physician about the altitudes featured in your trip's itinerary. Prescription drugs to minimize symptoms are available.

Who will be my guide?

We work with the most respected and experienced guides, many of them are professional Guides members of UIAGM / IFMGA, they speak fluent English.

What happens if I need to leave the trip early?

Communication is sometimes difficult in the mountains. However our guides and local staff will make the necessary efforts to obtain the necessary transportation to get you to the nearest town to Huaraz or Lima city.
